Faults Of Outer Rubber Layer


1. Cracks appear on the surface of the hose

In cold environments, cracks on the surface of the hose will cause the hose to be bent. If cracks are found on the surface of the hose, it is necessary to observe whether there are cracks on the inner rubber of the hose and decide whether to replace the hose immediately. Therefore, do not move the hose or dismantle the hydraulic system at will in a cold environment, and if necessary, it should be done indoors. If the hose must work in a relatively cold environment for a long time, you should replace it with a cold-resistant hose.

2. There is a bulge on the surface of the hose.

The bulge on the surface of the hose is due to the unqualified quality of the hose or improper use. If the bulge appears in the middle of the hose, it is mostly a quality issue in the production of the hose, and a qualified hose should be replaced in time. If the bulge appears at the joint of the hose, it is likely due to improper installation of the joint. There are two types of connectors for wire braid hose and wire spiral hose: detachable and crimped. The detachable joint jacket and joint core have hexagonal shapes, and the outer wall of the joint core is conical, making it easy to disassemble the hose. After connecting the joint core with the nut, the steel wire is inserted to prevent loosening. The clamp-type joint is composed of a joint jacket and a joint core. When assembling, the outer rubber layer should be peeled off, the core head should be put into the joint, the joint jacket should be tightened, and then the rubber hose should be tightened with a mold on the crimping machine to make the hose get a certain compression amount to achieve a tight connection.

3. The hose is not broken but has a large amount of oil leakage.

If the hose is not found to be broken but a large amount of oil is leaking, the reason is that when the hose passes through the high-pressure liquid flow, resulting in a large amount of oil leakage. This fault usually occurs at the bent of the hose. The hose should be replaced after inspection to ensure that the bending radius of the hose meets the technical requirements in use.

4. The outer rubber layer of the hose is seriously deteriorated, and micro-cracks appear on the surface. 

This is a manifestation of natural aging of the hose after prolonged use. Due to aging and deterioration, the outer layer continuously oxidizes, causing embrittlement on its surface. As time goes on, the embrittlement layer deepens. Once the hose is slightly bent during use, it will produce small cracks. In this situation, the hose should be replaced.
